Vancouver police cruiser parked for weeks in front of condo upsets resident
A Vancouver Police Department cruiser has been parked outside a condo development on the 200-block of East 7th Avenue in Mount Pleasant for a month, taking up a valuable parking spot, says a nearby resident.
Blake Segal, who lives in a condo complex across the road from where the Dodge Charger has been sitting, said parking is at a premium on that street because it’s permitted on only one side of the road and is not restricted.
“It’s very odd that it has been here for so long,” Segal said. “Parking around here is super sparse and it’s a waste of police resources. I want to know why it’s there. It’s a safe neighbourhood.”
The cruiser is also parked opposite the entrance to the Main Street Brewery.
On Monday, VPD spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison said that he was not able to provide specific reasons why the cruiser is parked there.
