Woman and girl found dead in Richmond home in apparent murder-suicide
The regional homicide squad is investigating an apparent murder-suicide in a Richmond home.
RCMP were called to the residence in the 6500-block of Barnard Drive on Monday. The bodies of a 43-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were found inside.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over the case. “Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident with no outstanding suspects,” said IHIT spokesman Sgt. Timothy Pierotti in a news release Tuesday.
Pierotti said the two victims were related. They are not being identified while police work to notify family members.
“The effects of this tragedy are being felt by the entire community,” said Pierotti. “Anyone in need of assistance is encouraged to call the Richmond RCMP’s victim services.”
