A gold chain. A tussle in an Ontario parking lot. And then eight gunshots
Andrew Kanoun, his cousin and a friend were cutting through a parking lot behind Richmond Row when two men approached them from behind, he says.
Kanoun, 25, said he tried to defuse the situation, but a shoving match broke out, his cousin fell and one of the two men pulled a handgun with a laser sight.
“He said, ‘You want the smoke?’ . . . Then he pulled out the gun . . . and started shooting,” Kanoun said from his hospital bed.
Kanoun was hit eight times in his legs, groin and lower abdomen
“I got hit and I just felt a burning sensation,” he said. “At the time, I thought it was just three or four bullets.”
