Located on a peninsula overlooking the Golden Horn, Topkapi Palace was built in the 15th century and served as home to the Ottoman sultans. Beautifully preserved it will take you back in time and into the private lives of the royal family.
The Hagia Sophia perfectly captures the rich tapestry of Istanbul’s past. Built in the sixth century the Romans called it the Church of Holy Wisdom and it was converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire, only to become a museum in the 20th century. In 2020 it was converted back into a mosque.
