Accused paid $100,000 for killing B.C. gangster Randy Kang, witness says
A key witness at the trial of alleged Brothers Keepers hitman Tyrel Nguyen says Nguyen told him he was paid $100,000 for killing gangster Randy Kang in October 2017.
The witness, a former Nguyen associate, can only be identified as AB, due to a publication ban.
AB testified Monday that Nguyen had confessed to killing Kang, during a conversation on the balcony of a Richmond condo where Nguyen and his associate Rohit Kumar were living at the time of the murder.
In his second day as a witness, AB told B.C. Supreme Court Justice Miriam Gropper that Nguyen later admitted that he and Kumar had received $100,000 “for Randy’s killing.”
Nguyen is charged with first-degree murder in Kang’s death and for the killing of Jagvir Malhi on Nov. 12, 2018 in Abbotsford. Malhi, a university student, was not the intended target.
