Canucks 3, Blackhawks 0: Akito Hirose’s poise helps in first shutout since 2021
“There’s something there, but I’ve got to find out what he is,” Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet has said more than once about a player in his charge.
Akito Hirose is the latest to earn the designation, which so far has been an expression of interest, though not quite conviction.
And of all the players he’s described as such, Hirose, after just three games, is surely the most intriguing.
The former Mankato State blueliner picked up his first two NHL points Thursday night, as his Canucks defeated the woeful visiting Chicago Blackhawks 3-0.
