Canucks: J.T. Miller not in Dallas, trade speculation cooled by revelation of injury
Is he, or isn’t he?
When word leaked out that J.T. Miller wasn’t on the Vancouver Canucks’ flight to Dallas on Sunday morning, speculation ran rampant that the winger might be held out in advance of a possible trade scenario.
Not so.
Postmedia has learned that Miller sustained a minor injury during Saturday’s 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins. A source called it a ‘little tweak.’ The Canucks face the Stars tonight in Dallas and are expected to further clarify the Miller situation after their game-day skate.
Miller, 29, has been on a roll of late with 12 points (2-10) in his last 11 games and is tied for second in club scoring with 54 points (20-34), including nine power-play goals. He has become a first penalty-kill fixture with Elias Pettersson and has often spoke about wanting to do his part to get the Canucks to another level.
