Céline Dion isn’t one of the 200 greatest singers of all time, Rolling Stone says
Axl Rose, Chrstina Aguilera, Ozzy Osbourne.
Those are just some of the entries on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest singers of all time, which somehow omits Céline Dion.
The list is a mix of recency bias — Ariana Grande at 43, anyone? — and acts with black-and-white photos. Dion does not exactly fit in either of those categories and is therefore absent for some reason.
“Where is Céline Dion,” one reader asked the magazine on social media. “This is unbelievable! One of the greatest voices ever…”
Faced with an online backlash from various fandoms, including Dion’s, Rolling Stone tweeted “keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List. Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent.”
