Court orders B.C. laser tag company to pay $38 for ‘disappointing’ birthday party

A B.C. lawyer took a laser tag company to small claims court over a child’s birthday party that failed to meet expectations.

Sarah Pivnick sued Planet Lazer Entertainment, which has six locations in British Columbia, for breach of contract, calling the children’s party “a disappointment” in her claim.

Pivnick, who represented herself, asked for $350 dollars over two alleged faulty vests, lack of birthday party decorations, poor customer service and an overcharge on pizza.

She reserved an “Ultimate Birthday Experience,” for $248, which she later upgraded. This included increasing the size of two pizzas, adding large pizza for $32 and buying three additional laser tag passes for adults, in total shelling out $465.50 for the party.
