Don’t buy a sick kitten from this Surrey pair, B.C. SPCA warns

The B.C. SPCA is warning the public not to purchase kittens from a man and woman whose cats have repeatedly turned out to be ill.

The SPCA has received 11 complaints over the past few months from people who think they bought kittens or cats from the pair.

“In many cases, the animals begin showing symptoms of illness days after purchase, and several of the kittens have died,” said B.C. SPCA senior protection officer Eileen Drever in a news release Tuesday.

Purchasers are often told the pets have been vaccinated when that isn’t the case, said Drever.

One of the duo has been identified and the SPCA will be recommending charges, but Drever said the SPCA is concerned they might keep selling animals in the meantime.
