Gang associate arrested in Surrey on Canada-wide warrant
An associate of the Wolfpack gang wanted for breaching parole conditions was arrested in Surrey this week after sneaking out the side door of a restaurant when anti-gang officers entered.
Marcos Bradley Cardoso, 31, was arrested Monday, Surrey RCMP Cpl. Vanessa Munn said in a news release.
Cardoso had been ordered to live in a halfway house in November when he was released on parole after serving time for unlawful confinement and other offences. But he never showed up at the halfway house, resulting in a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.
Meanwhile, the Surrey RCMP’s gang enforcement team was doing checks at a South Surrey restaurant May 15 as part of its Inadmissible Patrons Program.
Munn said the program, like Barwatch in Vancouver, “is designed to help prevent violent criminal activity in and around licensed establishments and to deter gang members from conducting their criminal activities in Surrey.”
