Get ready for a heat wave this weekend, Metro Vancouver
Metro Vancouver will likely be sizzling this weekend, with unseasonable temperatures in the 30s expected in some parts of the region.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting a steady temperature increase through the week, with the mercury spiking as high as 33 C inland on Mother’s Day Sunday.
The federal weather agency is forecasting sunshine all week, with highs on Wednesday of 18 C and 22 C inland. But then by Friday, it begins to really get toasty, with highs of 21 C and 27 C inland expected.
That’s expected to spike to 24 C and 31 C inland on Saturday and then 26 C and 33 inland on Sunday.
While these temperatures are warmer than normal for May, there should be some respite at night, as overnight lows will likely be temperate, between 12 C and 15 C.
