Huge outdoor comedy festival proposed for Vancouver in September

The organizers of a Canada-wide comedy festival featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Burr are hoping to expand to Vancouver this fall.

According to a report being presented to Vancouver parks board next Monday, Edmonton-based entertainment promoter Trixstar Live has asked if it can use Stanley Park’s Brockton Fields to host a B.C. version of The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival on the weekend of Sept. 15 to 17.

Trixstar Live has already secured locations for its Halifax (Aug. 11-14 featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Burr), Calgary (Aug. 26-27 featuring Jonathan Van Ness and Andrew Schulz) and Edmonton (July 14-16 with lineup to be announced) festivals this year.

The parks board report states The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival started in Edmonton in 2021 and organizers want to expand to five Canadian cities in 2023 (including Vancouver and Kelowna).
