Man injured in targeted shooting in Burnaby: RCMP
A man was injured in a targeted shooting in a Burnaby home Monday.
Burnaby RCMP said officers responded to a report of shots-fired at a home on Nithsdale Street near Smith Avenue in the Cascade Heights’ neighbourhood just before 11 p.m. When officers arrived, they found several people inside a home, including a 47-year-old man who had been shot in the arm and leg.
He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, investigators were talking to witnesses who were at the home at the time of the shooting.
RCMP said it’s too early to tell if the shooting is linked to the continuing Lower Mainland gang conflict, but investigators believe the shooting was targeted and that several suspects fled the area after the shooting.
