Man stabbed on SkyTrain in New Westminster

A man was stabbed and injured on SkyTrain in New Westminster Wednesday night.

New Westminster police say it happened at about 7 p.m. in a SkyTrain car near Columbia Street Station.

Police say the man had serious stab wounds, but they were not believed to be life-threatening.

A police officer recognized someone matching a description of the attacker and arrested that person on 4th Street in New Westminster.

Police say a knife was found inside the Columbia SkyTrain Station. They did not provide a possible motive for the stabbing.
