More Zellers pop-up stores coming Aug. 11: Here are the five new B.C. locations

Nostalgic Canadian shoppers will be thrilled to know 21 more pop-up Zellers locations are coming later this summer, five of them in B.C.

The pop-ups will be inside existing Hudson’s Bay stores and will appear on Aug. 11 in five provinces. They will vary from store to store, ranging from 1,000 to 2,800 square feet. They’re designed to test the market demand so the company can decide where future full-fledged Zellers stores will work.

“Pop-ups are a key ingredient in our expansion strategy, allowing us to explore and test in new markets, gather valuable customer insights, and fine-tune our offering before establishing larger-format store locations,” said Hudson’s Bay president Sophia Hwang-Judiesch in a release Tuesday.

The pop-ups will offer a curated assortment of “quality, value and design-led Zellers merchandise,” plus a hint of nostalgia for the classic retailer, according to the company.
