One dead, another seriously injured after latest Chilliwack gang shooting
The third Chilliwack gang shooting in the past week has left one person dead and another seriously hurt.
According to Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Martin Godard, police were called to the 44000-block of Watson Road in Sardis at around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday and found a man dead from gunshot wounds and another with non-fatal but serious injuries.
The shooting occurred in a cemetery at the end of a dead-end street.
Postmedia has confirmed that the man killed is Sujjad Ali Jalal, born in 1999, who lost his teen brother to a gang shooting in Vancouver in December 2020.
A suspect vehicle that was seen leaving the scene shortly after the shooting and before police arrived was located on fire in the 6700-block of 224 Street in Langley.
