One man is dead after a daytime shooting in Surrey on Sunday, said RCMP.

Officers found an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of a white Ford Edge SUV. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to a tweet by Punjabi-Canadian journalist Gurpreet Sahota, paramedics were seen trying to revive a person at the scene on Sunday.

A burnt-out vehicle was found a short time later in the 8200-block of 151A Street, said police. Police are investigating whether the vehicle is connected to the homicide.

Surrey RCMP said investigators are gathering evidence in the case, and do not have a description of a suspect or suspects.
