One person dead in three-truck collision on Highway 1 near Hope

One person is dead after a crash involving three trucks on Highway 1 west of Hope.

The RCMP’a B.C. highway patrol said it the collision involving three commercial vehicles on Hwy. 1 eastbound near Hunter Creek Road happened just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The driver of one of the trucks was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the investigation, which is still in its early stages, the deceased was driving a truck that slammed into one of the other trucks that was stopped due to construction traffic, said police.

The truck driven by the deceased rear-ended another truck “at a high rate.”
