Planning a trip to Banff? These two Canmore restaurants are worth a detour
While on a hiking trip last month, I based myself in Canmore, some 20 minutes from tourist-dense Banff.
Sauvage and änkôr restaurants both offer sophisticated food in casual settings. And both chef-owners are fuelled by passion. Should you be travelling or skiing in the Rockies, they’re definitely worth a try — and even a detour.
Where: 633 10 St., Canmore, Alberta
When: Dinner, daily. Afternoon tea on weekends. Brunch, Friday to Monday.
Info: 403-609-0583, sauvagerestaurant.ca
As a hiker, I get it. Tracy Little ventures into the wild and forages for two or three hours a day. The chef and owner of Sauvage restaurant considers it “forest relaxation,” a routine she’s had since opening in 2021.
