Precious cargo: Cat found in box mailed from overseas, says B.C. SPCA
That must have been quite the journey.
A cat that mysteriously turned up in a parcel mailed from China is now in the care of the B.C. SPCA.
Nicknamed Precious Cargo by SPCA staff, the castaway (cats-away?) was first spotted by Canadian border officers at the Vancouver International Mail Centre in Richmond in early April.
“The officers noticed that the box was damaged and had a sizable hole in its side,” says Binder Kooner, chief of operations for the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
“When the CBSA officer looked into the box, the officer saw a pair of eyes staring back, which blinked.”
