PSAC strike: Negotiations continue as federal government tables final offer
After holding its first job action near a border crossing in B.C. on Friday, striking members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada did not picket in the province on Sunday.
Bargaining teams continued negotiations late into Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, according to updates posted on social media by PSAC.
“Over the weekend, we have made some progress on our wage demands and job security,” said Patrick Bragg, political communications officer for PSAC B.C., in an emailed statement.
“We know that PSAC members want to get back to work and deliver the services Canadians depend on, but we also know that workers can’t keep falling behind. That’s why we’ll stay at the table until we get the fair contract our members deserve.”
About 155,000 members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) are impacted by the contracts.
