Surrey man charged in 2022 stabbing murder of Coquitlam senior

Investigators have charged a 21- year-old Surrey man in the death of a Coquitlam man almost a year ago.

Jeffery Stevens was identified as a suspect and Saturday was charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Terry Miller, on Feb. 10, 2022.

Miller and another man had been stabbed during an altercation in a house at 228 Schoolhouse St. and Miller died in hospital 12 days later. A charge of aggravated assault was also laid against Stevens, in relation to the second victim, who survived.

The arrest followed a year of work by investigators, said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, of IHIT.

I’m proud of the hard work of the investigators who were committed to seeing this through,” he said in a statement.
