Timeline: How the East Hastings Street tent removal unfolded

On Wednesday morning, the sudden removal of 80 tents on two blocks of Vancouver’s Hastings Street was announced.

This came two days after City of Vancouver documents showed staff preparing to end the encampment on East Hastings Street between Carrall and Main streets, and that police would be part of that action.

Here is a short timeline from the day:

City workers, including sanitation, fire, community services and police gather at Main and Hastings Street with several rented cube trucks.
