Traffic alert: Light snowfall causes congestion and delays, Drive B.C. says
A light snowfall was enough to create congestion and slow commuters around the Lower Mainland Tuesday morning.
Drive B.C. said snow was falling in areas that hadn’t been forecast to get any and driving conditions are slick in many parts of Metro Vancouver.
The highway ministry said drivers should “expect delays and congestion on major routes” and allow for extra travel time during the morning commute.
A stall on the Canada Line shortly after 6 a.m. near Bridgeport station caused delays but regular service has since resumed, according to TransLink.
There were no other service alerts in the transit system as of 7:30 a.m.
