Transit Police release video and images of SkyTrain stabbing suspect
Metro Vancouver Transit Police are hoping someone will recognize a suspect in a stabbing aboard a SkyTrain last weekend.
While on a train headed to Surrey Central Station at about 1 a.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old Surrey man suffered a wound to his abdomen when another man stabbed him after they got into a verbal altercation.
Police say the victim and his girlfriend boarded at Gateway Station. After words were exchanged, the suspect pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him. A witness helped the victim and his companion down to the main level at Surrey Central and called 911.
Transit Police, Surrey RCMP and paramedics arrived and the victim was rushed to hospital in serious condition. He has since been released.
A suspect continued to King George Station and got off the train. Police have determined the same man boarded at Stadium Station earlier in the day.
