That’s what American novelist and Big Sur resident Jack Kerouac once wrote in his masterpiece named after the breathtaking 144-km stretch of California coastline between Carmel to the north and San Simeon to the south.

Having recently visited the area, we’d agree with Kerouac’s sentiment. The dramatic scenery can defy description. Yet if only for the purpose of filling this space, we’ll endeavour to supply a few words.
