Woman testifies that lawyer sexually assaulted her in Vancouver hotel
A Vancouver woman testified Thursday that she was sexually assaulted by a lawyer in a hotel room after she had met him in a bar earlier in the evening.
The woman, who cannot be identified due to a publication ban, was giving evidence at the trial of Robert Zeunert, who has pleaded not guilty to the criminal offence.
She told a B.C. Supreme Court jury that she had gone to the Railway Club in Downtown Vancouver after work to have some drinks with colleagues on Feb. 18, 2020.
The complainant described how she had a number of drinks, including cider and wine-based cocktails, during the course of what turned out to be about several hours at the bar.
She said she and the others with her were drinking and “blowing off steam” and got into a heated debate with some men who were seated nearby.
